Helioscreen was pleased to be involved with this project for the heritage listed Republic Hotel’s third floor roof top bar. This space is host to Taylor’s roof top bar which is on the corner of Pitt & Bridge street Sydney.
Sydneysiders love a good a rooftop bar but at Taylor’s there’s something extra special about being exposed to the elements on the rooftop when looking at the city skyline, thanks to the 100sqm custom retractable roof system.
The rooftop space is made even more impressive by lush greenery of a large garden wall against the glowing lights of the night sky when the retractable roof is open. This gives a unique feeling of being in your own backyard while surrounded by a city atmosphere like no other.
Custom made to the unique shape of the roof which was removed for the project the All Seasons retractable roof system was installed on custom steel work which spans the full length of the rooftop area. Operated via integrated dual motors the roof can be opened or closed in a matter of minutes to give the ideal finish to the roof top space.
To top it off the renowned Lee Thompson heads up the Taylor’s kitchen. Combining a modern pub menu, with Asian and European influences. Thompson’s background is impressive to say the least. Formerly head chef at two of Sydney’s finest, and longest standing establishments, Opera Bar, and the Morrison & Oyster Room. Lee’s industry name has certainly put Taylor’s rooftop on the map.
